The Technopolis Moscow SEZ and the St. Petersburg SEZ signed a cooperation agreement at SPIEF 2025
The special economic zones “Technopolis Moscow” and “St. Petersburg” will develop trade, economic, scientific, and technical ties in the interests of the two constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The relevant agreement was signed at the XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
The parties will assist entrepreneurs and organizations in Moscow and St. Petersburg in developing business ties and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
"Today, the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone is the industrial face of the capital. More than 220 high-tech enterprises manufacture products in the microelectronics, pharmaceuticals, electric vehicle manufacturing, and unmanned aviation industries. St. Petersburg is one of Russia's largest markets and transport hubs, through which international cargo transportation is carried out. Among the customers for products manufactured by Moscow SEZ enterprises are already St. Petersburg companies and organizations. For example, Moscow manufacturers supply composite railings, innovative laser machines and robotic complexes, educational, interactive, and inspection equipment, and much more. The cooperation agreement between our SEZs will give an additional impetus to the development of trade, economic, and scientific cooperation," said Gennady Degtev, CEO of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone.
The parties agreed to hold exhibitions, fairs, seminars, symposiums, conferences, and other events to familiarize the business community with the economy and export opportunities of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Special attention will be paid to organizing business missions to friendly countries with the aim of improving positions at the international level and borrowing best practices in the management of special economic zones. Assistance will be provided in the development of small and medium-sized businesses and the search for partners for production cooperation.
Tamara Rondaleva, CEO of the St. Petersburg SEZ: "The agreement opens up new horizons for cooperation and development in our regions, which will be based on the platforms of two successful SEZs. This is an important step towards strengthening economic ties and creating favorable conditions for investors. We already have experience in placing the capacities of several of our residents in two SEZs—Moscow and St. Petersburg. And we see the synergistic effect of this format of cooperation: scaling projects in several regions allows us to maximize the advantages of each region for the successful development of business and industrial potential in Russia."
