The Saint Petersburg Special Economic Zone is the second most attractive investment zone in Russia
According to the 9th National Rating of Investment Attractiveness of Russian SEZs, the St. Petersburg SEZ took second place among technology-innovative SEZs (TIS).
Experts evaluated a total of 48 SEZs, including, for the first time, tourism and recreation zones. The top three TIS SEZs also included the Technopolis Moscow SEZ (first place) and the Dubna SEZ (third place, Moscow Region).
According to Mikhail Labudin, Director of the Association of Information Technologies and Communications Companies of the Russian Federation, this event plays a significant role:
"This rating is an important incentive for the development of all types of SEZs, facilitating investment and the creation of new high-tech industries. We have significantly expanded the criteria system, placing greater emphasis on the competencies of management companies, their ability to respond to global challenges, and the availability of innovative and social infrastructure."
Furthermore, the Saint Petersburg SEZ officially joined the Association of Clusters, Technology Parks, and SEZs of Russia, receiving the corresponding certificate at the awards ceremony. This is an important step, strengthening the zone's position and opening access to new resources and partnerships.
The ranking was prepared jointly by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Association of Clusters, Technology Parks, and SEZs (AKIT) of Russia.
