Special Economic Zone Management Company is working today at the International Exhibition-Forum "Russia". Tamara Rondaleva, General Director of SEZ "Saint-Petersburg", took part in the expert panel "Special economic zones: transformation of the mechanism and development prospects" within the framework of the thematic day dedicated to entrepreneurship.

In her speech Tamara Rondaleva emphasized the prospect of attracting foreign investors to the SEZ "St. Petersburg". In particular, she initiated the development and introduction by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia of amendments to the specialized legislation providing for new mechanisms and working conditions for foreign investors. Such a need has arisen due to the fact that to attract foreign investors under the current conditions, special bonuses and guarantees are needed, which differ from the current list of benefits and preferences for SEZ residents.

For example, support measures for industry in the People's Republic of China may serve as a benchmark for the creation of Russian competitive support measures.

The participants discussed amendments to the Law on SEZ and prospects for the development of the mechanism in the coming years, the transition to tax monitoring and the advantages of bank support for SEZ residents. Colleagues from other SEZs told about the most promising areas that they plan to deal with in the near future to maximize support for their investors - this is the issue of staffing, the topic of providing ready-made space for companies and others. Almost all representatives of SEZ management companies unanimously expect support for the development of their sites in the form of preferential funds for the construction of facilities and the active use of the mechanism for the return to the regions of funds spent on SEZs from the federal budget under Resolution 1119. The first such experience gained by St. Petersburg and Moscow is assessed by colleagues in the regions as a promising tool for the development of new sites.
During the plenary session, Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, said that the government intends to create more new Special Economic Zones in the near future, and also presented an investment map of Russia, which is available for both Russian and foreign entrepreneurs and investors.

"For business, this is an opportunity to choose a land plot for any project: from opening a café to building a large industrial plant. The map is loaded with data on almost 14 thousand investment sites: their size, equipment, available support measures", - said Maxim Reshetnikov.
