A sustainable development strategy through 2035 was discussed at the St. Petersburg SEZ
A strategic session on sustainable development took place today at the St. Petersburg Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The event brought together SEZ resident companies, management company staff, and representatives from the Russian Association of Clusters, Technoparks, and SEZs. It was moderated by Viktor Volkov, Head of the SEZ Project Office, and Timofey Buneev, Deputy Director of the Association.
A key topic was the involvement of resident companies in preparing non-financial reports. Such reporting boosts a company's credibility and makes it eligible for state support measures and incentives.
Special attention was paid to workforce development. Management company staff outlined their educational programs and ongoing collaboration with St. Petersburg schools and colleges to build a talent pipeline for SEZ enterprises. Timofey Buneev shared examples of projects successfully implemented in other SEZs.

In particular, participants discussed the concept of a digital platform that would allow one company to sell waste products to another, which could then use them as secondary raw materials in its own production processes.
