A delegation from the Chuvash Republic visited the Novoorlovskaya site
Today, the St. Petersburg Special Economic Zone (SEZ) hosted guests fr om Chuvashia. A delegation led by Marat Yakushev, the Minister of Industry and Energy, visited the SEZ as part of the "Days of Chuvashia in St. Petersburg" event. The delegation also included representatives from the region's electrical engineering enterprises.
Representing the management company at the meeting were Andrey Ivanov, Deputy General Director for Investor Relations, and Vladimir Balabanov, Deputy General Director for Construction. The guests showed interest in the SEZ’s development experience, mechanisms for attracting investors, approaches to infrastructure construction, and the operating conditions for resident companies.
The delegation was particularly interested in the presentation by Igor Korshunov, General Director of PANTES. He shared his experience of building a plant within the SEZ and explained how the available incentives help grow the business. PANTES has been a resident since 2018; its current facilities span 6,000 square meters, and the company is now working on the second phase of the plant's construction.
In addition, the parties discussed workforce development. PANTES believes that specialists should not merely be recruited from the market but nurtured starting from their school years. The company hosts student internships, helps equip electrical engineering laboratories in educational institutions, and subsequently hires the most talented students.
In response, Minister Marat Yakushev described the workforce training system in Chuvashia, wh ere specific educational institutions are partnered with specific enterprises. This process begins at the kindergarten level; engineering laboratories are then introduced in schools and universities, creating a continuous pathway from preschooler to young industrial specialist.
The meeting concluded with a tour of the Novoorlovskaya site. The guests viewed the resident companies' operational plants as well as facilities currently under construction.
We are confident that the exchange of experience between regions is a vital step toward developing Russia's industrial potential.
